PHP Grants Scholarships to Aspiring Health Professionals

The PHP Scholarship Program is offered to high school seniors planning to pursue a degree in a health-related field. Our goal is to provide today’s youth opportunities for continued success as tomorrow’s healthcare professionals.

PHP Student Scholarship Program

The PHP Scholarship Program is offered to high school seniors planning to pursue a degree in a health-related field. Our goal is to provide today’s youth opportunities for continued success as tomorrow’s healthcare professionals. The scholarship winners will be awarded scholarship monies payable to the student and the accredited post-secondary college, university or technical school.

PHP has offered academic scholarships to Indiana high school seniors pursuing careers in a health-related field with more than $180,000 awarded to students in healthcare career pursuits. Our goal is to provide today’s youth opportunities for continued success as tomorrow’s healthcare professionals.

Application Requirements

The selected winners have achieved a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or higher, are PHP members or have attended high school in the PHP service area, and have been accepted to an post-secondary college, university, or technical school. These winners also responded to a scholarship essay topic and were selected among their peers as the top candidates.These candidates completed a scholarship application to be considered for this award.

Scoring was based on the quality of the application and essay, including, but not limited to: Content, grammar, punctuation, spelling, research documentation and creativity. Also considered was community service including the length of commitment, quality of teamwork and leadership responsibilities in the community, and as well as academic studies, activities, awards, and honors.

Scholarship Recipients

PHP has concluded its 2018-2019 scholarship contest. The following students have been awarded scholarship monies for thoughtful essay responses.

1st Place | Sydney Weaver

Sydney Weaver is graduating from Garrett High School and plans to attend Butler University, where she will pursue Health Sciences. She is the first place winner and receives a one-time scholarship of $3,000.

2nd Place | Nathan Fuchs

Nathan Fuchs is graduating from Leo High School and plans to pursue Biology at Purdue Fort Wayne. He is the second place winner and receives a one-time scholarship of $2,000.

3rd Place | Lydia Holsopple

Lydia Holsopple is graduating from Fairfield High School and plans to major in Pre-Medicine at Goshen College. She is the third place winner and is receiving a one-time scholarship of $1,000.
