Physicians Health Plan of Northern Indiana, Inc., (PHP), a local
managed-care organization, concluded its 2007-08 Scholarship Program
by honoring the following students: Amer Karim of Fort Wayne placed first
and receives a one-time scholarship of $3,000. Amer will graduate
from Canterbury High School and plans to attend Northwestern University,
where his major will be Pre-Medicine.
Placing second in the program was Brittany Cook of Granger, who receives a
one-time scholarship of $2,000. Brittany will graduate from Penn High
School and plans to pursue a Nursing degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
Nicole Fuelling of Decatur, placed third in the program, receiving
a one-time scholarship of $1,000. Nicole will graduate from Bellmont High
School and plans to major in Dentistry.
This was the twentieth year that PHP has provided scholarship opportunities
to high school seniors who are pursuing a career in a health-related field.
