An HMO is a comprehensive healthcare benefit plan where PHP has contracted with a wide range of doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals to form a network of healthcare providers. With the PHP network, members have open access to over 12,000 providers which means members choose the healthcare provider they want to see, from primary care to specialists, without any special arrangements through the plan. In order for benefits to be covered, a member must choose an in-network provider.
